Accomodation: family status, injuries, medical issues and undue hardship
HRD Employment Law Masterclass, Vancouver Convention Centre
February 11, 2019, 11:00 am
HR professionals need to be up to date with the complex and growing area of accommodation law. How far do employers need to go to accommodate employees with injuries, medical issues and childcare obligations?
On February 11th, Human Resources Director Canada will host its Employment Law Masterclass in Vancouver. Guest presenter Richard Johnson will speak to HR professionals about an employer’s workplace duty to accommodate under human rights legislation. Topics will include undue hardship, non-work related illness or injuries and the recent BC human rights decision in Ziegler v. Pacific Blue Cross.
In a later session that day, Richard will provide a short presentation on recent amendments to the Employment Standards Act relating to pregnancy, parental and compassionate care leave.
