Kimberly Darling

Lawyer

Office: 236-420-1946 ext. 309

Kim is cool in a crisis. Level-headed and unflappable, she steadies her clients and keeps her eyes on the prize. With over 20 years of litigation experience, Kim has seen it all, from builder’s liens, to drug prosecutions, custody disputes, flooded golf courses, gun registry references, negligent building inspections and, of course, employment matters. One notable highlight was representing a rural property owner facing WCB claims (among other spurious allegations) from a cult squatting on their land. Kim’s unique and varied practice has made her an exceptionally quick learner with an ability to identify varied issues.

A true team player, Kim considers her clients to be part of that team – everyone works together to achieve the goals set by the client, whatever those happen to be. After spending close to a decade in a senior advisory position at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, she has a firsthand understanding of what it’s like to be on the client’s side of the table and, most importantly, what a client needs and wants from their legal counsel. Kim’s flexible and progressive approach to legal problems is a perfect fit for small to mid-sized entrepreneurial businesses. Whether employee or employer, she particularly enjoys working with clients who are decisive and prepared to take risks to achieve their goals.

A lifelong soccer player, while never the fastest, biggest or strongest, Kim was always the most determined and dedicated. Having coached both her kids in the sport for several years, she is now happily retired, content to embarrass them from the sidelines with her enthusiastic cheering. Kim is also a proud and active member of the Kelowna community; a volunteer member of the Board of Kelowna Community Resources for over 15 years (3 of those as President), she is also a past Vice President of the Kelowna Minor Football Association.

Happiest when outdoors, Kim loves hiking, camping, snowshoeing, skiing, and beach time – just don’t ask her to ride a bike; no good ever came of that.
